“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) REFLECTION: What does it mean when God says He knows His plans for me? During these emotionally and physically stressful times, do these words uplift and give me comfort? ACTION POINT: As I continue my life’s journey and face these hard and challenging times, it is encouraging to be reminded that my loving and Almighty God has a plan for my life. God knows that only if I stop depending on earthly destructive securities, and instead rest my trust entirely on Christ JESUS my Lord, will I break free from the yoke of this world’s slavery. I will take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11 knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue me from hardship, pain or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for my life and regardless of my current situation, He can work through it to prosper me and give me a hope and a future. I will cling to His promises in times of trials and hardships because He desires the best for me as His child. Whenever problems occur in this earthly life, I will always find refuge in the Word of God, including Jeremiah 29:11. All glory to our ever FAITHFUL GOD!
