7.28 BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING

“BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION, WITH THANKSGIVING, LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD” (Phil. 4:6)

Facing circumstances we have today: pandemic, economic crisis, violence, oppression, and strife, we are engulfed with fear, terror, pain, anxiety, and restlessness, right? It seems that escape is impossible. But the BIBLE has this GODLY advice: “BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION, WITH THANKSGIVING, LET YOUR REQUEST BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD” (Phil. 4:6). This is how we can walk away from all of these troubles. The fact is, GOD does not want us to agonize over the things we are facing now and in the future because worry paralyzes our prayer life. The apostle Paul reminds us that instead of fretting or worrying, we should ask GOD for help. By continually taking this approach to anxiety, GOD’S peace will guard our hearts and minds (v. 7). Like David, in facing all the circumstances in his life he said, “As for me, I will call upon the LORD, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray and cry aloud and HE shall hear my voice” (Ps. 55:16-17). Brethren, worry gets us nowhere, but prayer gets us in touch with the ONE who can handle all of our concerns. Because GOD cares for us we can leave our cares with HIM. May HIS goodness, grace, and care be upon us as today and always. Have a Blessed Day!
