12.22 Join the triumph of the skies

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:13

Written by Michael Herbert

Hard the Harold angels is one of the classic Christian hymns. My friend Nick Ladewig brought up the fact during praise and worship at church last Sunday that his favorite part of this wonderful Christmas classic is the part where the writer states “Hark! the herald angels sing: “Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled”
Joyful, all ye nations rise Join the triumph of the skies” Join the celebration of the new-born King. Why The world was in spiritual darkness at that time with little to no hope. No known prophets speaking for God and a host of promises that were given yet unfulfilled. The weary world waited in anticipation for something positive to come. Salvation has finally come to those who upon the Lord. This to the Jew first then the Gentile. every nation can rise and sing that the newborn babe has now come.

The very thought of us rejoicing with the heavenly host we all are proclaiming that the King is coming. To be born in a manger, of a virgin. The best good news ever is that we no longer have to die in our sin-born estate but that Heaven came down to earth in the form of Jesus. The creators of all the world let heaven for you and me. We rejoice with the heavenly host that that that answer to death has now been defeated. For Jesus would be the only acceptable payment to a Holy Father for the sins of Eden. True peace can only come through Christ. When a man is no longer striving against his maker you can find peace. As long as their men and women are full of ego and looking out for themselves only you cannot find peace.

A born-again person ought to possess unspeakable peace in the spirit.

In the NIV version, this verse reads ” To whom his favor rests”. The person who is at rest has reconciled with God and looking forward to what God has for them. I am reminded of heaven and this famous verse in Revelation. After this, I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9 What a breathe taking scene it will be when we join the trump of the skies to porcelain that Christ was born, Christ had died but that he has risen again like we who believe in Jesus Christ. Sing and shout, dance to your heart’s content. For Jesus has come to rescue is all.
