Ransomed for Eternity

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

Ransomed for Eternity

A human rarely comes to the point in their lives where they understand that they imprisoned by the enemy of this world, that is until they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus. We were on death row without any pardon nor get out of jail free card. Our estate is hopeless as there is nothing we can offer that would appease the righteous judge. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 Wow is me you might say as you review your plight in life. Born in depravity we face a life sentence with the hope of prole.

Although this may be a sad account of human life there is one who, before the foundation of the world knew we were going to be in the situation. His name is Jesus Christ. who paid a ransom much greater than our minds are able to comprehend. What was the price Jesus paid?
Christ paid the price to free us from the curse that the laws in Moses’ Teachings bring by becoming cursed instead of us. Scripture says, “Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.” Christ paid the price so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to all the people of the world through Jesus Christ and we would receive the promised Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-15 He paid the ransom with his own life. Jesus died so we can be set free from the curse of the law.

But as all things that sound good there must be a decision to make him your Lord and Savior. You see, the ransom was paid, but this free gift must be received in order to release us from the sting of death. Merely knowing there is a cure for something,in itself, does not cure you. There must be repentance from the heart. I’m turning from this old direction and turning to Christ to now follow him for eternity. Amen
